What our people have to say
-
I love working at the University because it is great to work somewhere that puts such a heavy focus on both EDI and Sustainability, these are two topics that are hugely important for me. It is great to know that we are playing a part in a more sustainable built environment, and that everybody we work with has the opportunity to contribute to this.

I appreciate the positive culture at the University, whether that’s the supportive atmosphere among colleagues, the institution’s exciting growth or its efforts to make the built environment more sustainable and inclusive

Everything we do centres around student success. This means that the contribution of every single member of staff is acknowledged as important, and also that every single person is cared about (and for) so that they can contribute their best. We’re not an institution, we’re a family – we look out for, and look after, each other.

Working from home - what we expect
Many of our job roles involve some homeworking. As an employer we are pleased to offer this flexibility and in return, we need to be sure your homeworking environment is suitable. Here's the list of must haves to make sure we're all working productively:
- All homeworking must be within the United Kingdom.
- Your home environment must be suitable and professional, meaning it's private and confidential to you, free from interruptions and noise, and away from other household members.
- You must have space for a home workstation, where you can house your laptop, screen, and peripherals.
- Your own internet connection must be secure and reliable, with the capacity to handle video and audio calls - no buffering!
- You must follow our IT security and data protection policies at all times.
- You must be accessible to colleagues during your normal working hours, making sure your work calendar is up to date.

Pre-employment checks
We undertake thorough pre-employment screening as part of our recruitment process. Given we have contracts with Government offices, we make sure our checks comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Checks will include identity, right to work, basic disclosure criminal record check, and three years of employment history. We'll explain more to you as your application progresses.
